Locked out of a HONOR or Huawei

These use their own ID instead of Google's, and newer Huawei phones have no Google services at all.

Before you start: You must control the HONOR ID or Huawei ID on the device.
Data loss: Clearing a forgotten lock erases the device.

Huawei and HONOR are the exception to almost everything else on this site. Newer models ship without Google services, so Google account recovery is irrelevant — the blocker is the Huawei ID or HONOR ID, and only that vendor can help.

Why these are different

Since Huawei lost access to Google services, newer Huawei phones run without Google Mobile Services. HONOR, once part of Huawei, was sold off and now ships Google services again on most models — but keeps its own HONOR ID.

So the account that locks the device is the vendor's, not Google's. Recovering a Google Account will not help on a recent Huawei.

The route

  1. Identify which ID the setup screen is asking for — Huawei ID or HONOR ID.
  2. Recover it on that vendor's own account site, using the registered phone number or email.
  3. Check the vendor's own cloud backup rather than Google's, since that is where the data will be.
  4. Sign in at setup with the recovered ID.
Because these ecosystems are smaller, third-party 'unlock' offerings are more common and more dangerous. They are device tampering.

Before buying one secondhand

Confirm the vendor ID is signed out and that setup completes fully. Also check whether the model has Google services, if you need them — many buyers only discover this afterwards.

Stop when: The vendor ID belongs to someone else.,You need Google apps on a model that does not support them.
Official escalation: Huawei or HONOR support with the original purchase invoice.
