Search results for "unlock my phone" are full of paid tools and bypass sites. The pages below are the manufacturers' and platforms' own. Type the address yourself, sign in with your own account, and use their erase or reset — then expect the account that was on the phone to be asked for again.

The remote erase and recovery-mode reset on these pages delete everything on the phone that is not backed up.

Apple (iPhone)

Apple has no button combination that clears a passcode on the phone itself. You erase from iCloud if the phone is online, or restore from a computer in recovery mode.

Samsung (Galaxy)

Many recent Galaxy phones will not show the recovery menu unless a USB cable to a computer is connected. Knox and company-managed phones are not personal unlocks — the employer has to release them.

Google (Pixel)

OnePlus

OxygenOS recovery wording varies slightly between versions. Read each line before you confirm.

Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO

Xiaomi Find Device or Google Find Hub can erase the phone remotely if it is online. A Xiaomi account bound to the phone will still be required after the reset.

Nothing

Nothing OS still enforces Google Factory Reset Protection after a reset.

Sony (Xperia)

Sony's recovery menu is sparse. Wipe data / factory reset is the official lock-screen path.

The catch on every Android phone

If you do not see Wipe data, you are probably in Fastboot, not Recovery. Use the volume keys to highlight Recovery mode first.

After any reset, setup asks for the Google Account that was on the phone. If you changed that password very recently, some phones refuse it for a while — wait and try again.

Stop and get help when

  • A page asks you to pay for an unlock or download a tool — you are not on an official site.
  • The phone asks for an account that is not yours.
  • The device is managed by an employer or school.
