vivo phones run Funtouch OS with a vivo account alongside Google's. Recovery is ordinary, but official support is thin in markets where vivo does not sell directly — worth knowing before you buy one secondhand.
Clearing a forgotten lock erases the device.
Two layers again
Google's Factory Reset Protection applies as it does on any Android phone. On top of that, a vivo account may be required if one was signed in.
Recover the Google Account first, then the vivo account if the setup screen asks for it.
The regional support problem
vivo sells directly in some markets and not others. If your phone was imported, there may be no local service centre able to verify ownership for you.
That matters because ownership verification with proof of purchase is the fallback when account recovery fails. Without a local channel, that fallback may not exist.
Before buying an imported vivo secondhand, check that both accounts are signed out and setup completes in front of you.

- Either account belongs to someone else.
- There is no vivo service channel in your country and account recovery has failed.
