A repair does not unlock the phone

A new screen, a shop, or a software update does not talk to the carrier's lock.

   A screen, battery, or board repair can change how the phone looks. It does not change Carrier Lock or a blacklist flag.

   A software update can move the menu. Check About again after it finishes. The status is still the carrier's.

   If a shop offers to 'unlock it while they have it open,' that is not an official carrier unlock. Decline it.

4. 04

   Warranty service from the manufacturer will not clear a financed line. The carrier's device-payment page is still the eligibility check.
