Factory Reset Protection is supposed to annoy you
Google built FRP so a stolen phone is a paperweight. Owner recovery means you still have the Gmail.
FRP asks for the Google account that was on the phone before the wipe. It is not a bug in setup.
If it is your Gmail, recover that account on a computer first, then type it into the phone. If the password changed very recently, some devices wait before accepting it.
If it is not your Gmail, you are not the owner of record. The seller needs to sign out, or you need a refund.
We will not walk you through FRP “servers,” talkback tricks, or file-based exploits. Those go stale, they violate Google’s rules, and they are how stolen phones get fenced.
