Carrier and network locks
The phone opens. The new SIM does not. That is a billing and policy problem, not a forgotten PIN.
A factory reset will not SIM-unlock it
People wipe good phones every week because a store clerk said “try a reset.” A network lock lives with the carrier and the IMEI. Erasing the handset does not pay off the installment plan.
Who can say yes
The account holder at the carrier that locked the device. They will ask for IMEI, ID, and whether the phone is paid off. Most US postpaid unlocks are free once those boxes are ticked. Prepaid brands have day-count windows. We keep those playbooks on the carrier pages.
What we will not do
We will not send you to a site that “generates” an NCK for $8. If the carrier says no, the honest answers are: wait out the window, pay the device off, or return a used phone that was never unlocked.
